Russian Ministry Trip
Praise the Lord for the opportunity to serve Him on my recent ministry trip to Russia Oct. 16-25. It was a flight of over 14 hours from Portland to St. Petersburg, and there I joined a ministry group from Boston, Massachusetts. It was led by Russian lawyer Greg Boykansky, who also served as interpreter for the event. The Prison Ministry Conference, Oct. 18-21, was the first of its kind ever to be held in Russia. There, government officials are now realizing the need for Christian ministry in their prison system.
There were over 350 delegates from over 17 countries, including neighboring republics and Europe, consisting of pastors, laymen, prison officials, and representatives of the Russian justice department. The Conference was held in the Rostrov 6 Hotel, a large conference center on the outskirts of St. Petersburg. The Conference director was Yan Volkof, head of Prison Ministries in Russia, also leader of TBN Russia. I was able to share how prison ministries are conducted, and how lives are changed, delivered and transformed through salvation in Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
The conference lasted four days, and I was privileged to be the prayer leader for the closing meeting. Representatives from five neighboring republics have invited me back to share in similar conferences in their countries. I was able to minister several times at the New Life Rehab Center, located on the Russia-Estonia border. Those founding the ministry, under the leadership of Pastor Sergei, bought three Russian army bases and transformed them into a ministry that serves over 300 men and women in separate facilities. The detox and rehab program is very strict, requiring a full year of dedication from each participant, 18 hour days, seven days a week, filled with devotionals, Bible studies, vocational training, and labors in things which make the institution almost completely self-supporting: a saw mill, vegetable farm, rabbit farm, milk cows, and even their own water supply.
It was a blessing to be able to minister to a late evening service with the men, and in another service early in the morning. I was also privileged to minister at the Source of Life Church, under Pastor Michael Kotov, then another day at the Source of Life Bible School, with close to 300 students. This is a ministry of the Assemblies of God church by the same name, with over 2000 members, pastored by Michael Kotov. The services we had there were so powerful, the anointing almost greater than I have ever seen anywhere, with the pastor himself falling under the power of the Holy Spirit to the point he could not rise, and even the worship leader touched in the same way, as they turned the meeting over for me to continue.
The Lord truly manifested His glory on all the Russian ministry trip, to Him be all the praise!

Shalom, best of greetings from “Source of life” Church in St. Petersburg! Last month we had Milton Alvarez visiting and ministering our church and the Bible college. By God’s occasion he was invited to our church, and we could feel God’s moving power in a strong way. Everybody was blessed, and a lot of people were full of the Holy Spirit. I was deeply touched and encouraged in the Lord, and I really hope to see him back again. His teachings in the Bible college were tremendous, and he served as a true instrument of God, with prophecy and word of knowledge for particular people, that brought a real change in their lives. We are looking forward to see him again and to be connected in ministry and in communication with and his wife.
With great blessings…
Pastor Kotov Mikhail, Source of Life Church and Source of Life Bible College

Our recent ministry trip to India September 5th through the 20th was a tremendous blessing. Accompanying me was Allan Bender, and in the airports of Newark, NJ, and New Delhi and Bangalore, India, we were able to give out over 4000 tracts! In New Delhi, we were received by Manoj Chopra, the strongest man in India, whom I had come to know through Keith Davis of the International Power Team. Manoj arranged for our overnight stay in New Delhi at the home of Shiva, a rich businessman of the city who builds million dollar homes. How we praised the Lord for the opportunity to witness to this man, and he prayed to accept Christ during our visit!
The following kday we flew to Bangalore, where two weeks of intense ministry awaited us. We preached at five churches, including The Blessing Church, Shekinah House, Garden Cities Assembly of God (1000 plus members), and the Methodist Church of Bangalore (also 1000+). It was a joy and blessing to minister with Jay and Chris Naidoo from Durban, South Africa, who led the worship in the Methodist Church's service. We also ministered at the Bethany Christian School where we prayed with over 3000 students. We also shared at the secular Baldwin School. Along with these outreaches, we conducted ministry at various prayer groups and ladies' intercession meetings. It was a great blessing to minister and be with the members of the Power Team from India.
The last days of our trip gave opportunity to visit the city of Chennai, and also take a safari in a reserve park in Bangalore. We praise the name of the Lord for multiple salvations and healings during this trip, to His glory. Now I am asking your prevailing prayers for my coming trip to St. Petersburg, Russia, scheduled for several weeks beginning Oct. 15th, that the Lord supply abundantly every need, and give a tremendous spiritual harest in every place of ministry, to the praise of His Name.

Cook Islands and New Zealand Ministry Trip Report
Dear Friends,
May God bless you and keep you. Praise the Lord for His wonderful
works in making it possible for me to minister recently in the Cook Islands
(Polynesia) and also Auckland, New Zealand. I was invited by Pastor Kapao
Kapao to take part in their Transformation Crusade scheduled in the Cook
Islands for the first week of August. I left the US on August 6, arriving
at the Rarotonga airport. On the 7th, I was able to promote the Crusade and
also share my testimony over local TV. My host was George Pitt, a powerful
believer and owner of the local T.V., radio, and newspaper, also the holder
of TBN broadcasting rights in the Islands.
The Crusade began the 8th, and included Rev. Tim Hall from Australia, and
Dr. Kameel Majdal, an Arabian believer living in Jerusalem. During the
Crusade and seminars, the Lord gave great healings and deliverances, under
the powerful anointing, and 20 salvations to His praise. Another high point
of the week was being able to minister at the Youth Rally held in the Avarua
Auditorium. The Holy Spirit moved powerfully, giving over 40 salvations,
and the anointing of over 120 youth. Please see our website
www.miltonalvarez.com for pictures of this meeting and other events of the
campaign. The Lord powerfully manifested Himself in ministering to the
pastors at a meeting at Paul Lynch's beach home.
The blessing of a lifetime occurred on Monday, August 13, when at a
cabinet meeting of the Conference pastors, I had the privilege of leading
the Cook Islands Prime Minister, Jim Mararai, to the Lord! At this time, he
also dedicated the Islands to the Lordship of Jesus Christ!
We witnessed a miracle of the Lord's overcoming power when we went to
minister one evening at the local jail in Avarua. The authorities were
refusing to let us in, but with us were the singers of the Australian
Hillsong Church. One of the members had certain connections, and a
subsecuent call from the Minister of Justice gave us opening into the jail,
with the marvelous harvest of 20 inmates coming to the Lord! The other
blessings the Lord gave on the meetings and different service can be seen on
our website.
Along with Dr. Kameel and Pastor Kapao, I flew on August 17 to Auckland,
where Pastor Ti met us and took us to the Quadrant Hotel where we would be
staying. On subsequent days, through 21st, the Lord gave very powerful
anointing for the Leadership Conference, at the Good News AOG Church, and
other meetings and personal contacts in Auckland.
Praise the Lord for all He accomplished for His glory these days! I
returned to Portland the 21st, where Eneida and children were awaiting me.
Without her prayers and support, these trips and subsequent blessings would
not be possible. I also want to thank each of you, whom the Lord uses, to
facilitate these missionary journeys and mighty spiritual harvests.
We ask your continued prayers and backing for my next trip, scheduled for
September 4th to India and Nepal, where I will be ministering for several
weeks. May the Lord richly bless each one of you.

Russia Ministry Trip Report...
Russia Ministry Trip – May 9th through May 22nd
May 9th - Departure from USA to Moscow, Russia, arrives Thursday evening of May 10th, after 16 hours in the air. May 11th allowed relaxation for sightseeing at the Kremlin and Red Square. Also we ministered to our host families in Moscow.
On Saturday, May 12th, I took the 2:00 a.m. train to St. Petersburg, arriving at noon, and proceeding on to the New Life Center Rehabilitation Center in Kingissip on the Finnish border. On Sunday, May 13th, we took a boat to a Russian military base on the border, and ministered on Mighty Island to officers of the Russian Army. This was formerly a secret base of the USSR, now still an observation point monitoring ship traffic between Russia and Finland. I was told I was the first American ever to set foot on that base—what a privilege! Many of the officers had been to Cuba, so this gave me a point of common ground for conversation.
On May 14th we returned to the mainland to minister again to the members of the rehab center, and at 7:00 p.m. we held a special service for those in the program. Many were touched and delivered by the power of God during the three-hour service. Joining us were Captain Igor and his wife Tatanya from the Army base. They had accepted the Lord with me a few days previous.
On the evening of May 15th we had a blessed service at a satellite rehab center, with over 80 saved, and also numerous healings. At 9:00 p.m. we ministered to the staff, numbering around 30, with a powerful anointing—some were slain in the Spirit, and others received holy laughter in a blessed infusion of release and the joy of the Lord. This is so needed for those working in rehab centers, as it is a very draining and absorbing labor.
May 16th saw ministry again at the rehab center, and then the awesome blessing of an invitation to share on Russian Christian T.V. I gave my testimony the following morning at 11 a.m. TBN Russia, in Saint Petersburg, with transmission to all of Russia. It was so ironic, that in 1978, I had been in the same city, living a sinful life, dealing with the Mafia and drugs, and now, by contrast, I had the privilege of giving testimony of a life transformed by the Lord’s grace. These are the mysteries of God’s heart, as it says in Jer. 33:3, because 21 years ago, at the same season, the very day I was going to commit suicide, I came to know Jesus as Savior through the ministry of TBN in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida! As we were finishing the program, Ivan, the director, received a word from the Lord that there was someone at that moment going to commit suicide, and that I should direct that word toward him. So our parting prayer was for salvation and for anyone who was in the throes of suicide. What a wonderful God we serve!! That day I also had the privilege of meeting Andrei, the leader of the St. Petersburg chapter of the FGBMFI, and a powerful Russian businessman in stocks and bonds. That evening we ministered at Jesus is Lord church in Kingissip in a powerful service as we prayed for and anointed the congregation.
On Friday, May l8th, at 11:30 a.m. I was privileged to minister at Fornosovov Prison in St. Petersburg, giving my testimony and praying for the inmates. We had one salvation and many were delivered. May 19th was privileged to pray for drug addicts on the streets of St. Petersburg with two salvations. The street outreach program was opened up by Sergei, himself an ex-drug addict from there. It is a terrifying situation in the city, where thousands are bound by drugs and live in basements of buildings in stench and filth. The numbers are in multiples of thousands, and neither the police nor the hospitals intervene until deaths are reported. Please keep this epidemic in prayer. That evening, we took a boat on the Neva River, where the Russian Revolution started, and had the privilege of leading the boat captain to the Lord. He was visibly touched and shaken by his commitment to Jesus Christ.
On May 20th, we drove to the Betel Rehab Center, run by a Spanish pastor. It was a four-hour ride to the center on the Estonian border, and there we had a powerful service of over three hours in which we saw many healings, including that of the worship leader, who had tuberculosis and AIDS. God spoke to her that she was totally healed! This ministry was founded in Spain and is run by Pastor Mario Diez. He has done an awesome job with the rehabs, the Lord using him to change the lives of hundreds of drug addicts. Back in St. Petersburg that evening, we were able to minister to the members of the center and to the staff, where we saw the power of God blessing the people in a very anointed time.
On Monday, May 21st we took the 1:30 a.m. train back to Moscow, arriving at noon where I was received by church members to minister to their family members. On May 22, was able to meet with Pastor Sergei from Church of Truth of Vancouver, WA. He was the pastor who had opened up doors for us to minister in both St. Petersburg and Moscow. He was traveling with his son, Dima, from Kamchatka Peninsula, and ministering at a mission. We were able to meet his brother Anatoli, who has a large church in Moscow. We had a good time of prayer together, then I left to minister to the FGBMFI in Moscow. The president of the chapter is Brother Bagan, is a powerful Russian businessman. We ministered at the Venecia Restaurant on Arbuck street, the most fashionable area of Moscow. The meeting lasted through midnight, when the restaurant closed. There we also had had a surprise visit from Dr.Kameel Majdali, and his daughter Haifa. He was in Moscow for a week with an Australian church-planting team. Kameel is our connection for commitments in Australia. The brethren then went to my host home where ministry continued all night till the following morning at 6:00 a.m., and I headed to the airport for my 10:45 a.m. flight to the US. Arrived home at 11:45 p.m. that same night, to God be the glory!!

East Coast Ministry Trip Report
Dear Friends of the Ministry,
Thank you for your support and prayers, which have opened up the doors and allowed us to minister in diverse places. With this letter, we wish to give you an update on our subsequent trips, and also give you our schedule for future outreach. Our last East Coast trip was a great spiritual success. From March 29 through April 4th, we were blessed to be ministering in New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia. In New York, we shared one evening at Kittim Silva’s church in Queens, New York. At this service, we were able to meet a pastor by the name of Javier Montenegro, who heads a powerful Hispanic church in Beersheba, Israel. This has opened up the doors to minister in Hispanic churches in Israel, which number twenty-five congregations. Also in New York, we were able to minister with a dear servant of the Lord, Carmencita Vale Ramos. This powerful minister of God has had the privilege of ministering all over Europe, and has also had an audience with Queen Elizabeth. She has opened up many doors internationally for our ministry.
In New Jersey, we had some powerful ministry at two Bible studies in Morristown and Vineland. On Sunday April 1st, we did two services, first in Philadelphia at the Cuban church, Fuentes de Vida, and in the evening we ministered at the In Company of Jesus Church in Vineland. All of these services were spiritually anointed, as we saw the Lord bring the Heavens down in salvations, deliverances, and miracles. In the Cuban church, we had a pastor’s wife who had a vision of Heaven. Toward the end of the service, her spiritual eyes were opened, and she saw the lights and rainbows in the Heavenly places. She cried out in joy and named what she was seeing. She also let us know that her life had changed forever in that moment. Our days were also blessed as we were able to minister with two powerful women of God, Leonor Rex, and Libertad Morano. Through these servants we saw some powerful healings and deliverances among the brethren, especially in the Cuban congregation. All in all, the ministry was very effective, seeing the compassion and the anointing that the Lord deposited on those that were hungry. What a blessing it is to be willing, and obedient to the Lord.
Our future trips for this year are just beyond our capacity to reason in the natural. God has opened up the floodgates of blessing for us with coming ministry all over the world. May 3 to 5, I will be doing prison ministry in Fresno, California; and then later this same month, heading to Moscow, Russia, for ministry in churches, prisons, and orphanages. The coordinator for this trip will be Pastor Sergie of Church of Truth Ministry located in Vancouver, WA., who will go over ahead of me. Our following trip is programmed for August 2-28, to Australia and the Cook Islands. Eneida and I will be going together for that crusade. This will be exciting because we will be able to minister to the aborigines and other diverse outreaches in Australia, and then have the once-in-a lifetime opportunity to be in different islands of Polynesia as a conference speaker.
Please keep us in prayer. You, as supporters, are vital to our being able to go to these different nations, and take the Word of the Gospel around the world. Please pray about helping us, as the Lord leads you, with these ministry and financial needs. “How shall they preach, except they be sent. As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the Gospel of peace, and bring glad tiding of good things,” Romans 10:15.
Eternally grateful in His service,
Milton and Eneida Alvarez, Rom. 10:8-10

Dear Brethren in the Lord, With joy we again greet you in Jesus’ precious name, trusting you be found in His richest blessings. With this letter we wish to give you an update of our ministry outreaches, also to thank you very sincerely for your faithful prayers for us, and generous support, which make possible our continued labors for the Lord.
As we wrote in our last newsletter, we were privileged to minister earlier this year in the Cayman Islands, Cuba, also in Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, and California, through home Bible meetings, church services, rehab centers, and in prisons. To God be the glory for souls saved, healings, and deliverances. Most recently, I just returned from a very productive and spiritually fruitful ministry trip to Russia, May 10th through May 21st. For details of this trip and those of our previous ministries along with pictures, please see our website at www.miltonalvarez.com.
The Lord is opening doors now for ministry during the rest of the year, with August 2-28 in Australia and the Cook Islands. We have been invited to minister to the Aborigines in Darwin, and take part in Transformation Meetings in the Cook Islands August 7-l3. Thank you for placing these dates on your prayer calendar. Other pending trips are for Nepal, Tibet, and India, with a return to Russia probably in September.
Again, we wish to express our appreciation for your generous support and your prevailing prayers for our ministry. You are the ones the Lord uses to provide for our needs, so that we can do His work all over the world. International travel is extremely expensive and demanding, and as you give and pray, you are right along with us, co-laboring for the Lord’s glory and the salvation of precious souls this last hour before His return.
Included here are our address and phone number, and any other contact information you might need. All checks can be made out to Anchor of Salvation International Ministries. May God abundantly bless you for your prayers and offerings, according to Deut. 1:11. We continue to have home meetings every Monday evening, and prayer vigils every Friday evening, where we share the Word and minister to your needs.
In Jesus,
Milton and Eneida Alvarez Romans 10:8-10

Philippines Ministry Trip Report
In late January we did our first ministry trip of 2007 to Manila, in the Philippines. God moved mightily in every meeting where we ministered. We saw many salvations, healings, deliverances and miracles in these meetings. We ministered in three churches, at three FGBMFI dinners, in two orphanages and at one prison. At Word for the World Church, one of the largest in Manila, we saw a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit, as hundreds were touched by the power of God as they sought Him, lining up at the altar. That same afternoon, we preached at a small church where the same hunger for God was manifested. All in all, the trip to Manila, was very fruitful, very encouraging, and a tremendous learning experience. Contacts were also made for future ministry.
The Full Gospel Businessmen there are really on fire for the Lord. The three meetings where we participated, we saw a genuine hunger for God, and as a result of their seeking, businessmen from all walks of life were powerfully touched. In one of the meetings, a young man from Nepal was changed by the power of God. Now he has opened the doors for future ministry in Katmandu. At the orphanages we also saw a mighty work of God. We were able to distribute clothes and tracts to be used there. The children expressed gratitude as they receiving mightily during the services. The River of God Orphanage in the city of Pasig, was ministered to, with the Spirit of God touching many in the area of deliverance. We saw the reality of God impact the youth, with many receiving dreams and visions for the future.
At the prison, we spent a whole day watching God perform many wonderful miracles, along with hundreds of salvations. We left satisfied, knowing that the Holy Spirit had changed lives radically. One of the greatest miracles of which we heard was that of an ex-convict, who at the moment of execution, received a call from the President to give him a full pardon. He had given his life to Jesus the previous year; and while sitting in the electric chair, with only one minute more, he was set free. This is a testimony of the mercy of God. This man now goes back to the prisons to proclaim “liberty to the captives,” Isaiah 60:1,2.
The other wonderful meeting we had was at a the office of one of the top lawyers in Manila, Joe Villanueva. His cases include even those of the Supreme Court. Every Thursday he has a powerful prayer meeting that starts at 12:00 noon, and finishes at 2:30 p.m. Here we saw the power of God manifested, as we ministered to lawyers, pastors, and clients alike. His law firm is booming because he has put Jesus Christ first. He also opened the prisons for us. We were thankful to Captain Umberto Lotilla for hosting us, and we know the Philippines will never be the same. I thank God for the privilege and the honor of preaching in a country were there is such hunger and desperation for God. We are planning future trips there, but we greatly need your powerful prevailing prayer, and also provision for the finances to be able to return. You can be co-laborers with us, through your help in reaching many nations which are desperately crying for the Light.
FROM THE DESK OF MILTON ALVAREZ
Cayman Islands and Cuba Ministry Trip Report
On Wed., February 14, we flew to the Grand Cayman Islands from Los Angeles, arriving around 5:00 p.m. We were taken to the Cayman Hospital, to pray for the sick. The Lord gave signs and wonders, following His Word. We prayed for a man on the verge of a heart attack, who was released a few days later from the hospital. He had such peace after we prayed for him, and we felt at that moment that God had healed him.
On Friday, the 16th, we had the first meeting of a three-day (not consecutive) open-air crusade at West Bay. Many were touched by the power of God that first night. The next day, we spoke at the Cayman Outreach Association, where many were touched by the Lord in a special way. Saturday morning saw us ministering at Northward Prison, with two receiving salvation, others rejoicing in deliverance and healings. That evening we again held an open-air evangelistic meeting.
The following days, Eneida was able to give a Women’s Seminar at the Embajadores Church, which had promoted the open-air crusade. At that church itself, an indoor crusade meeting saw miracles, like the paralyzed woman, who hadn’t walked for three years, completely healed! There were also deliverances and many touched by the power of the Holy Spirit.
On Wednesday, February 21, upon arriving in Havana, we found a tremendous spiritual resistance. At the airport we discovered that our tour package was not honored, and we had to struggle to find a ride to the city and a hotel. After losing various hours, we were finally taken to Hotel Occidental Miramar in the embassy area. That night, as we went out to get a meal, Eneida had her purse stolen by a street thief. The tragic part was that inside the purse were her visa, passport, and airline tickets, without which she could not leave the country. After countless hours with the police, we decided to pray all night, and the Lord answered our prayers. At 9:00 a.m. the next morning, we received a call from a Cuban worker, stating the documents had been found! This was true miracle, as without these documents, she would have been detained in the country. He we see that God protects His own. Seeing initially this opposition by the enemy, we understood there was a great blessing in store for our time in Cuba. The morning that we went to get the purse, the person that contacted me accepted the Lord, and later the man who had found it also received Jesus as Savior.
That evening at 6:30 p.m., the Victory Outreach Church, the Lord used us to give a powerful word for the country of Cuba, and for the church in general. The next day, Friday, we moved in with some believers in Laton, a suburb of the capital. In spite of all the poverty and lack, it was a joy to see the fire in their hearts that they had for the Lord. That evening, I was able to preach at another church of the same denomination, with four salvations, and the fire of God came down. Eneida simultaneously at another location was able to minister at a meeting of the Full Gospel Businessmen. At the end, I was also able to share there, and bring a word of consolation and powerful prophesies.
On Saturday the 24th in the morning, we were able to share a word at the Prince of Peace
Church in Laton. We weren’t able to come in as preachers, having entered with tourist visas instead of religious visas, but we could bring “greetings,” which we did, from the island of Puerto Rico! This was a powerful service, as we saw the hunger of the people for the blessing of God.
At this service, there were over 200 people in attendance, unusually large for a church in Havana, where there is more control, since it’s the capital.
On Sunday, at 10:00 a.m., we had a powerful service in the town of Guanabacoa, in a
Pentecostal Church. This was one of the most powerful services where we have ever ministered , with over 500 in attendance. The anointing came down like rivers of fire, with many healed, and delivered. There were also seven salvations. The meeting finished at 2:00 p.m, barely giving us time to get to the airport. We thank God for His miraculous power to be a light to Cuba. We know that this is the beginning of many future visits to bless this nation. As a side note, there are over one million Christians in Cuba in a population of around twelve million. This means that God is doing tremendous work in this nation, and the best is yet to come.
We flew back that afternoon from Havana to the Cayman Islands, and upon arrival, we were able to minister to our good friends, Dr. Charles and his wife Jannelle. On Monday, February 26th, as we were leaving for Los Angeles, a young girl to whom we had ministered there in Cayman brought my wife a gift in the form of a lovely watch. The Lord did this, replacing the one that had been stolen from her in Havana!
We returned to L.A. that night, arriving there around 1:00 in the morning. Later that same day, we met with a Christian actor, Mel Novak, who has done movies with Chuck Morris and Bruce Lee. We were able to pray and fellowship at King’s Restaurant, on Long Beach, CA.
Thank you for all your prayers and intercession, because without this we would not have been able to accomplish the Lord’s work as we did. Thank you also for the financial support to help make all this possible. In coming weeks we will be in the area of Philadelphia and New Jersey, preaching at churches, halfway houses, prisons, and a Christian radio station. The first church where we will be is a Cuban church, Leon de Judah. Keep us in prayer for some powerful services, and the glory of God to be manifested.
